Framing, Upholstery and Art
Fingers As Pins are based in Uxbridge, Middlesex. In case you are wondering, the name came from inspirational upholstery teacher Louise Boyland of the Shoreditch Design Rooms. It is one of her many useful mantras. It appealed to us as a unique name for our business which is hands on and uses a variety of pins and nails.
PICTURE FRAMING AND CERTIFICATE MAKING
Chris has been providing bespoke certificates and frames for City of London bodies for over ten years. City of London Freedom certificates are traditionally long and thin and often contain wax seals and calligraphy. They require special care when putting together. He has also framed royal charters (which need specialist glass and depth of framing) as well as providing clients with a variety of bespoke frames.
He increasingly uses acrylic “glass” to keep frames light and easier to put on the wall. Acrylic and oil paintings are also prepared for hanging with care and consideration of context.
UPHOLSTERY AND ART
Misha has found her passion for practical creativity in upholstery and although relatively new to it, she finds the combination of colour and composition in 3D compelling. It is an extension of her art. It also taps into her lifeling interest in recycling and repurposing.
She delights in restoring wood to its previous glory as well as finding fabric that works for clients and their surroundings. Looking for the best value for clients whilst encouraging them to think beyond beige and grey. Older items can be revived and new items created. Interior design services can also be provided and a support team who can take on larger projects.
